This ‘Bro-mantic’ comedy, suggestive of Friends meets The Importance of Being Earnest is a hilarious ‘twenty-something’ coming-of-age story. Witty, sharp writing, a cast of characters who seem familiar, and the droll narration of the character ‘Ron’ make this one-act play a feel-good time.

Rob and Jake have been best friends forever, and share an apartment, a love of video games, movie marathons and late night pizza runs. Everything seems idyllic, until a girl comes along to ruin it all (or, as Rob refers to her, ‘the Bitch’).

The clever use of video ‘interviews’ propels the story forward in an interesting and informative way. ‘Ron’ as both story teller and character added a level of depth to a frothy light, fun tale that will resonate with anyone who has ever had, or been, a jealous best pal.

Excellent comedic timing from a strong ensemble cast combined with clever, laugh-a-minute humour in a script that doesn’t contain a wasteful word made this light-hearted tale a delight to experience.

Bonus: If you fall in love with Roommates you will be happy to know that this fun play is being developed into a series that will be available on YouTube in the fall of 2013!
