RibbitRePublic returns to London (Letters in Wartime - Best of Fest - London 2012) with its inaugural creation - Be A Man - a series of powerful vignettes that explore every possible dynamic of the fouler sex. Thought-provoking, compelling and hilarious, Be A Man is an un-apologetic celebration of man-hood.

Ever wonder what men do when they're alone? Ever wonder why men love sports? Do you want to know why they love sports? This group of 4 will tell you. They will tell you loudly, sweatily and bluntly.

I wanted to see this because of the mature audience warnings. The sweaty warning may sound funny, but sweat is practically an actor in this show itself. The audience "cannot" sit beyond the third row. You are there to experience it ALL, including the sweat and the spit. Don't want to be spit on? Don't want sweat on you? Well, stay away from front row. I even started to smell something interesting once the sweat started to splash. Purely intentional I am sure.

I must say that the energy and the physical comedy of this show was top notch. One must have to be in peak physical condition to be able to run and move the way they did for a full hour. Be a Man is done in segments that explain what men go through and all the stereotypes they are faced with, but pushed to the extreme in order to explain the obvious...ie. men go through a lot of sh*t, but it is 'cause society expects them to.

When I left the theatre, I was thinking of how I would tell someone about this play, and how could I test if it was a play for them. Then, I remembered two particular lines. If these two lines gross you out, then perhaps this is not the show for you. If these 2 lines make you laugh, then you will be laughing so much more that you'll be in tears. "Is your name Google? I hope so cause you are all I'm looking for." And then there is this one, "Without a penis, all I would have is my brain." A man's brain can be a scary place, but what do I know, I've never been one. See this show and find out if you could BE A MAN!!!!
